Shopping Guide: Tall girls

Everyone has a hard time finding that perfect pair of jeans, or those shoes that fit just right. But the added problems we have of being tall makes shopping that much more of a challenge.

Having been above average heights for as long as I can remember the worst part about shopping is trying something on only to have it be far to short or just look awkward as the proportions are way off on you.

I remember sitting at my computer for hours googling where to get long jeans from, or long dresses. I mean there are plenty out there for tall girls, but a lot start too big or are not age appropriate I have found. But after much trial and error of online shopping ordering and returns I have managed to find some decent stores that accommodate tall in small enough sizes.
Jeans:
The best place I have found for jeans, particularly skinny jeans is American Eagle online. Most of their styles now come in extra long which is the perfect length. Another style for a nice fitted pair is J Brand jeans in the Pencil Leg cut. These are not supper skinny but they are defiantly a good splurge, a nice fit and good quality.

Tops:
Although not easily accesible I have found that the selection of tops in Topshop in the Tall collection are nice and a wide range of style from casual to more dressy. These can be purchased online as well as at their in-store locations. Zara is also another place I have found has longer shirt styles. Being european they tend to have a bit of added length to the hems and sleeves making them ideal for the taller girls.

Workout:
When hitting the gym its important to have some good clothes to do it in. Lululemon has the option to buy their pants in a long length which is the perfect length without hemming!! Many of their tank tops are also longer styles, meaning you won't have to go around wearing crop tops. Lululemon also has some great leggings (their wonder pant) which are surprisingly long even though they only come in one length!

Blazers:
Dressing to impress is a must, and having a blazer that fits appropriately is even more important. Banana Republic offers a selection of blazers in their tall collection from casual to the classic business style.  Although a bit on the pricier side, you know they are a great quality and a perfect fit with the tall collection available.

Dresses and Skirts:
It is always nice to be able to dress up without flashing everyone! If you are going to be buying dresses online always make sure to look at the lengths, and if you have to send an email to the company asking. I have found this to be so helpful so I don't end up with hemlines that end inches below my butt! The maxi dresses at Victoria's Secret I have found to be a good length, available for purchase online. The Gap also has a nice selection of dresses that are casual and appropriate lengths for all occasions. For skirts, many of J Crew's styles tend to be a decent length, as I like to wear my skirts at the waist the skirts from here make it possible to do so.

Pajamas:
For the longest time all I wanted was a pair of pajama pants! If your anything like me lazy days which are spent in sweats and pajamas and all of my pants ended up as crops the moment I washed them. I was so excited when I found that Victoria's Secret has some of their pajama pants and sets in long length and it was an immediate purchase online for me. The same problem with sweatpants, I found they were the right length when I bought them however after washing they seemed to become just awkward ankle pants. Victoria's Secret PINK boyfriend pant are the perfect length.

Well ladies, I hope this little guide of my findings helps you find some of your new closet favourites in the perfect lengths!! If you have anything to add feel free to share, we gotta stick together with some things right?

Happy Saturday

The Midi Skirt

This spring and summer try the midi skirt. Perfect for those warm summer days, its an alternative to the classic maxi skirt from previous years. For the taller girls find a skirt that hits mid shin, and for the shorter girls find a skirt that hits just below the knee; these are the most flattering lengths to wear the midi skirt at.
1. Oui Pleated Midi Skirt
2. New Look Lace Crop Top
3. Gap Multi Strap Sandal
4. Rebecca Minkoff Crossbody bag

Don't be afraid to try colour and layer them to create a playful summer look. This rich orange hue is perfect for a warm summer night, paired with a crossbody bag in a complementary hue.

Trying a monochromatic look, this look is workplace appropriate while still being suitable for a night out. This fitted mini is a twist from the a line style, however still great for the upcoming summer. Paired with a chambray shirt it keeps it from being too professional of a look, and the white heeled sandal keeps the eyes on the printed skirt.

If you are going white, don't be afraid to add the colour to this classic colour. The tshirt blouse can be substituted for a graphic tee to create an even more casual look perfect for those busy days of errands! This printed blouse, paired with the pink shoe brings colour to life with the simple white midi. With the long chain necklace adding an extra femminine touch.

Red Lips

Hola Chikas!

I am completely obsessed with my new tee from Zara. It is so much fun and perfect for everyday! I love how it has every personality of girl on it with it's flirty red lips
On thursday I thought I would reward myself for all surviving the past couple of weeks.

Today I am taking it easy, completing some paintings and then heading home tonight.

Tweed Coats

Hey everyone!
So it was my birthday this past weekend and I turned 19! Some of my family came to visit Courtney and I in London! It was good to see them. I can't believe that I am 19, its quite surreal because this is the last year that I will be the teens! Time flys! This weekend I decided to purchase a Tweed coat from Zara that I had kept my eye on for quite some time. It was on sale which made it even better. I decided to make a post about how to style different Tweed Coats and give a few example of different coats as well.

This is the Tweed coat that I had gotten. It has a really nice length and detail to it. I like the stitching in the back, the vertical lines elongate your figure and will make you look taller. I think the colour is really nice as well, it is a mixture of red, blue and black. There are little details such as the buttons on the shoulders that make it that much nicer. I really enjoy this coat and cannot wait to wear it!

Colour, colour, colour. Don't be afraid to wear colour! It is a bold statement piece, but you can tame the outfit down so it does not look so dressed up. It can brighten up a bad day! For a casual look, you can pair a colourful tweed jacket with neutral colours and basic clothing items. A pair of good jeans and a white t-shirt will match with pretty much any coat you add to it! As for shoes, you can wear plain loafers, flats, sandals or heels! I think this option is for a person who loves to look feminine! I absolutely want to purchase another coat in a bold colour!

Another way to style a tweed coat is with leather! Leather leggings or pants can toughen up a tweed jacket. This look can mix edgy and sophistication.  Pairing the pants or leggings with black shoes can lengthen your legs because of the continuation of the same colour, black. Black is a also a very sliming colour!

Lastly, you can pair a tweed jacket with shorts! This is ideal for warm weather or pairing the outfit with stockings can make it cold weather appropriate. This is a simple outfit as you can wear it with a white tee. I like this outfit because it's easy to put together in the morning! In terms of shoes, you can wear sandals, loafers, heels or boots, this outfit is that versatile!

I hope you enjoy the tips!
